Probably the Biggest Night in Portland Sports This Year…

It isn’t so much that I’m disappointed. The Blazers made a go of it and I think they’ll be back better than ever next year. It isn’t even that the Timbers home opener was a little uneventful either, a 0-0 draw against Carolina ain’t so bad. No, it’s more than this was one of the few evenings in Portland sports that actually had us making decisions – what to watch?? – it doesn’t happen very often when you’re “under-teamed” like Portland is, so it just felt like a little bit of a letdown, that’s all.

Congrats to the Blazers on a very good season. You managed to get me to care about the NBA again and that alone surprised me.

Every time the Carolina (wtf is a) RailHawks have visited PGE Park, the result has been nil-nil. We play them again tomorrow.

There’s a tailgate planned (we set up grills etc in the parking lot behind the bullpen, across 18th from the Park and across Salmon from Lincoln HS), but it’s supposed to be 50s/rainy. If the ‘gate gets washed out we’ve got the pub(s) to fall back on; hope to see you cats out there, didn’t get to meet you last night.

I predict the Timbers will win 12-0.
