So begins the last day of my stay in Vegas, strange to think that I actually used to like this place. Maybe it’s been the experience/event itself (NAB 2009) and the disappointment of the whole affair, but I can’t help but think that people that vacation here are out of their minds.
1. There’s no point in brushing your teeth here. None. The water is so fucking bad that you’ll get a better “feeling of clean” by wiping your teeth off with the same toilet paper you just used on your ass.
2. Don’t count on the hotels to provide jack shit, in fact, count on them to rape you at every turn. Last night had some beers with a dude staying at Paris and they were actually blocking 3G wireless cards so that you had to use their lame internet – made using some cell phones impossible. Real smart.
3. STOP BRINGING CHILDREN HERE – I don’t care if you corrupt their fragile little minds but there is simply NOTHING for them to do in Las Vegas (Except cry really loudly and piss me off)
4. Shit can the whole idea of the “convention” – it’s pointless. We have the internet now for things like that and shoving 8,000 old people into the same room just makes for a massive, godawful smell and nothing more.
5. A message directly to the NAB and its members… stop holding stupid little shops on how to take advantage of (i.e. ruin) innovative things like Twitter, etc. – Try coming up with something fucking new for a change. The days of media of all types riding the coattails of tech are nearing an end… If you want to be relevant then do something new you dumb dicks.
