Golden Temple Cereal Box Typo Re-revisited

It’s already been all over the news that Golden Temple of Oregon, makers of the very fine Peace Cereal line of breakfast cereals, had some packaging misprint problems. The cereal itself is fine but the box “mistakenly” lists a phone sex line for their 800 number. The sultry voice on the other end of the line asks callers “Do you love sex?… Isn’t that why you called?”. I love sex, I also love breakfast cereal, so I decided to get to the bottom of this.

Since there’s nothing physically wrong with the cereal (or phone sex), Golden Temple is not recalling the boxes at this time. 7 of the 13 box designs have the wrong number but it looks like Golden Temple is figuring that the problem will correct itself over time rather than doing anything about it. Locally, Golden Temple cereal is sold at both New Seasons and Whole Foods, among others. We rushed down to get ourselves a box to find out what all of the fuss was about, here’s what we found…
