Few news stories keep me up at night but this one did and not even out of fear, more out of disgust. When I originally read about the senseless beating of Robert Kevin Tracey of Washougal, WA at the hands of a father and son tag team of trailer park inbreeding trash, I didn’t wonder why they did what they did – in fact, I didn’t even care about that – instead, I wondered where society had gone so completely fucking wrong as to produce two people, a dad and his kid no less, with such little regard for someone else’s life. Sure, Michael Collins and his 16 year old son Teven Collins are far from the first people in the world to commit a senseless and violent act but there was just something extra foul about them being a father and son. Me and my dad did things together, I remember when I was 16 he taught me how to take apart the engine of a mid-80’s Mercury Capri. We’d rent the occasional shitty action film and laugh at the same stupid crap together, hell, we even watched sports together about half the time.
My dad never took me out to beat a man within inches of his life.
So, when I read today that a tip from a viewer of America’s Most Wanted led to the arrest of both Mikey and Teven by authorities in Mexico and that the extradition process is underway, I was rather hoping that the Mexican authorities in question would accidently slip with gun in hand and blow their fucking brains out. There’s no point in sending the Collins boys back to the US, we don’t want ‘em. In fact, if you Mexican authorities are reading this and you feel so inclined, go right ahead and use them as crash test dummies or maybe “misplace” them in one of those wonderful Tiajuana jails we hear so much about – make both of them the official “dropped soap retrievers” in the death row shower. If we get them back here we’re just going to pussy out on the whole thing anyway, better that they get what’s coming to them.
