I too, have fallen for the gas can scam…. while living in seattle… and I gave the fucker a 10 dollar bill…… Following week,, I see the same fucker down under the 99 by the waterfront doing the same thing to a VW Rabbit convertible full of college girls…. I drive up to the car and roll down my window and say,, “Ladies,,, put your wallets away,,, he’s a scam!!” and that dude looked at me like he wanted to kill me……. Never saw him again tho’, so I’d like to think I was effective… However…. I’ve also been victim of the ‘Sandwich scam” in downtown portland… I wonder if anyone knows this one!!!
