If you’re like me you probably don’t have a radio these days except for maybe in the one in your car. I’m not going to let that stop me from taking a few minutes out of my day to check out the Sam, Randy, and Royce Show on OPB tomorrow morning though. The Three Amigos will be doing some follow up on Fridays State of the City address – which is good because thanks to some really shoddy web work by KATU News I managed to miss the whole darn thing.
Of particular note, the crazies from the RekallSamAdamz.com movement are already posting on OPB en masse, which just goes to show that sex obsessed freaks do indeed listen to public radio when it suits them. I’m sure the call screeners at OPB will have a headache by the time that shows over…. Too bad, it would be nice to get some more info out of all three of said Amigos about the CRC plans rather than retread the same old tired crap again and again. God forbid we all move on…

Ummmm, yeah, that’s sort of what I’ve been saying for ages now. I was a lot more interested in what Mayor Adams had to say about his address than I was about Beau WhatsHisName. Thankfully OPB made darn sure the important questions were being asked. Yeah, right.
How can anyone say the city has moved on? Sam Adams is persona non grata in every political circle. The reason callers asked the questions they did on OPB is because so many people are incredulous that he has not stepped down. It’s childish to pretend that this is boring and that “yawn, why doesn’t everyone talk about something new.” I agree Portland needs a new story unfortunately Sam Adams is not allowing that to happen.
It gives me some small measure of faith that people won’t let this die. Why should we forget about someone who used his influence and the cities resources to prey on a kid?
For what its worth this has nothing to do with Mr. Adams being gay and everything to do with him using someone for his own gratification (that was to young to consent) and then discarding him like trash. Oh and one more thing, I thinks it is homophobic that no one gives a damn about that kid because he is A) Male and B) Gay. It is really shameful.
I will say this, that sex abuse is not about sex but rather power and control. Sam Adams didn’t give a f**ck what happened to this kid after he used him. The fact that Beau has had a rough time of it i.e. run in’s with the law, short term relationships with older men and posing naked does not surprise any one who has worked with survivors of sex abuse. Thanks for the mentoring Sam, now please go crawl back into the nearest hole.

Kristie-Some of my co workers are lame as well. This has no bearing on anything that happened to them when they were underage or to young to consent. I concede that some victims are not sympathetic but that doesn’t make the perp any less culpable. The blame lies solely on the 42 year old adult in the equation even if he seems the more likeable of the two.
