Part-time PDXSucks.com contributor Sabrina Miller pointed out to me that Oregonlive.com has removed Saturdays ignorant and racist editorial article entitled “In a changing world, Portland remains overwhelmingly white” from the “Most Commented on OregonLive.com” sidebar top 10 list.
The article, which drew the ire of just about everyone that had the misfortune of reading it, had approximately 150 comments as of Sunday and easily ranked #2 among the most commented articles as recently as yesterday morning. (See caption at right for the current list, conveniently altered).
As of Monday evening, The Oregonian / OregonLive.com had removed the article from the list (though the comments still remain) right about the time they posted an inflammatory article about an allegedly inappropriate relationship between Mayor Sam Adams and an adult intern, some three years ago.
Obviously The Oregonian / OregonLive.com figured out that their article wasn’t going over too well with anyone with half a brain and decided it would be best to try to hide it as quickly as possible without actually removing it (a move that would have probably depleted those few scraps of credibility they have left). Nice call OregonLive – far better to plow your head in the dirt and hope it blows over than to admit any ignorance or responsibility. How nice it must be to have that soap opera gossip crap about Mayor Adams suddenly become the hot topic. You must really think we’re morons.

its not news that oregonlive writes trash and employs the worst writers in town but this is definitely a new all time world record low for them. i read the piece and it was very biased but they do this instead of owning up to it and thats just wrong.

Blow me Charlie Ray. If you’re calling me racist then you’re clearly barking up the wrong tree. The point of my latest tirade was simply to call out The Oregonian and OregonLive.com for treating Americans (note the spelling, dumbass) of ANY race as simple statistics and implying that diversity is something that we can somehow achieve by adjusting some numbers. They stopped just short of suggesting that we as a state should order two crates of blacks and a box and a half of Mexicans and our world would be a better place.
I am very much pro-diversity but I am very much against letting affluent white assholes in the press treat diversity like a white guilt feel-good mission. If the recent economic disaster has taught us anything it’s that the division of people in the United States today is not one of culture or skin color, but rather one of income.
Now go promptly fuck yourself with a garden hose and shut the fuck up.
The Newhouse family doesn’t give two shits about journalistic integrity so you will always see bias and irresponsibility from The Oregonian. We’re fortunate to have alternatives in Oregon, many large Newhousian markets have nothing else at all.

So by my count blacks (8% of Seattle) were the killers in at least half (that’s at least 50%) of the murders in the Seattle area in 2008. At least five of the other murderers were latinos.

By my count at least twelve of the 21 murders in Seattle in 2009 were committed by blacks, only 8% of Seattle.
Of the 27 officers that were shot and killed by criminals in the last 20 years in King and Pierce county, 21 of them were shot by black men, even though black men make up less than 3% of the population.
In light of the indisputable facts above, does anyone still think it is a good idea to bring more blacks to live in Portland???????
